From Clicks to Bricks, Dónde Has a Mobile Solution for Retailers

Directions Magazine (DM): Can you explain the location technology used to support Dónde’s application, how it connects mobile users with the specific store inventory to match product with request, and what make it “enterprise grade.”

Anthony Nicalo (AN): Our technology is our secret sauce! At the basic level, we use geolocation and responsive design so Dónde works great on any mobile device. At this point, Dónde doesn't connect mobile users with specific store inventory. Enterprise grade means that Dónde's infrastructure can work with massive amounts of data. We've optimized the locator to work with one or one million data points, so the same store locator that is offered as our free product is also used by our enterprise customers.

DM: Are you supporting a retailer’s loyalty program with a “white label” solution? Can you differentiate or explain the premium or customized solution you are offering?

AN: With custom integration, we can easily bring in any loyalty program. The premium solutions start with full-serve data management for retail chains and businesses building out their distribution network. It then extends to mobile optimized landing pages for specific stores, detailed shopper marketing insights, and full-on custom work. We've been able to help our customers book services right from the mobile store locater, offer product demos, and more. 

DM: Can you explain how your “real-time geo-located appointment scheduling and coupon offers” work? This suggests that you can offer coupons based on a time window for the promotion, correct?

AN: That's correct. Based on the customer's current location, Dónde sends specific offers to the end consumer. For example, if you're offering 20% off services for one week at one of many locations, Dónde lets you get that discount in front customers around that specific location. The goal is to make your store locator extremely relevant for the customer, and to make it easy for them to find exactly what they want. 

DM: What differentiates Dónde from aisle411 or PointInside?

AN: Dónde doesn't offer any in-store maps. Right now we provide the information and influence to bring a potential customer from the street into your store. 

DM: Do you see your business model evolving toward supporting mobile advertising or something else?

AN: Dónde will offer native ads, but we're really focusing on providing detailed shopper-marketing insights. Meaning, we want to focus on helping our customers understand who is visiting their website and then buying products in-store. Uncovering the equation that equals clicks-to-bricks is the main goal.
