My name is Sarah Klaas and I have been working in the USGS Elevation Operations section since 2015. My current position is the 3DEP Elevation Technical Lead. I was hired with the USGS in Rolla, Missouri as a student while attending Missouri S&T getting my bachelor's degree in geology and geophysics. I enjoyed the job so much I decided to stay at USGS and in Rolla after graduating. When I was in school I did not imagine I'd be involved with a program that reviews and publishes lidar data for the whole nation. I'm proud to be a part of a great service to the scientific community in making this data available to the public for free.
