Tara Pottebaum and Marcus Torchia

Tara Pottebaum is an analyst in Yankee Group's Enterprise Research - Enterprise Application and Intelligence Strategies practice. Pottebaum advises enterprise clients on how integration technologies and business intelligence will benefit companies and extend their operational effectiveness. She also helps vendors develop product, service and go-to-market strategies for reaching enterprise customers. Pottebaum's research focuses on topics including business-to-business (B2B), location intelligence (LI), business performance management (BPM), business intelligence (BI) and business activity monitoring (BAM).

Pottebaum has seven years of multi-industry experience in business process analysis, business requirements gathering, financial accounting and reporting, and marketing analysis. Before joining Yankee Group, Pottebaum's professional experience included marketing intelligence, project management of financial projects, consulting on Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance and public accounting as a senior auditor at Pricewaterhouse Coopers.

Pottebaum holds a B.A. degree in accounting from Western Washington University and an M.B.A. from Bentley College. Her M.B.A. studies included a two-month business outsourcing project with GE Capital, on site in Gurgaon, India and a management consulting team project on global dashboard implementations for Johnson & Johnson.

Marcus Torchia is a senior analyst in Yankee Group's Enterprise Research group with an expertise in enterprise mobility. Torchia facilitates actionable product and market decisions for buyers and sellers in the emerging enterprise mobility space. He analyzes the strategic interplay that develops between technology readiness, market development and individual business needs and the relationships between value chain players that create opportunities. Torchia focuses on emerging enterprise wireless/mobile application areas, including strategic WLAN initiatives, remote asset management, machine-to-machine communications and enterprise location aware applications.

Prior to joining Yankee Group, Torchia worked for Nokia Research Center's venturing arm, where he managed incubation activities for the US market. He has extensive experience in business case development, market entry strategies and product development. He served as president of Delocus, a wireless location-based services startup serving the SMB market. Additionally, Torchia worked for Openwave Systems, Lernout & Hauspie Speech Products, and MCI Wireless in product management, quality assurance and account management positions, respectively.

Torchia earned a B.A. degree in economics from the University of Rhode Island and an M.B.A. from Olin Graduate School of Management at Babson College.
