Shivon Van Allen is a member of URISA International’s Vanguard Cabinet of Young Professionals and a senior GIS Technician at NW Natural in Portland, Oregon. At NW Natural she supports the Engineering team through construction design and as-builting services and provides cartographic and spatial analysis support for departments throughout the company. She earned her master’s degree in Geography and Certificate in GIS from the University of Alabama and her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies and Film from Portland State University. She is passionate about promoting STEM education and professional development opportunities for young professionals. Beyond work, Shivon enjoys visiting national parks and volunteering at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry.
