Sara Yurman, GISP, is a founding partner in Spatial Focus, a consulting firm specializing in addressing and spatial data. In that capacity she has worked nationally and internationally, handling projects in locations as diverse as Arkansas, Indonesia and Serbia.
Sara is a member of the Address Standard Working Group, chairing the Quality Control section of the FGDC Address Standard. Prior to the Spatial Focus startup, Sara served as a GIS Manager for local, regional and state governments.
Her involvement with Open Source software began in the 1990's, and Spatial Focus has deployed Spatial Focus from its founding in 1998. Most of the work of the company is done in QGIS and PostGIS, and delivered to clients running ArcGIS, Oracle and SQL Server. Sara is the author of the URISA Open Source Workshop.
