Hallowell, Maine — March 3, 2020 — Blue Marble Geographics® (bluemarblegeo.com) is pleased to announce updates to GeoCalc Online, Blue Marble’s geodetic parameter repository, with a built-in Point-to-Point Calculator.

GeoCalc Online is the cloud version of the GeoCalc library. All coordinate systems, transformations, and other definitions used by Blue Marble’s software products are found in GeoCalc Online (geocalconline.com). Users of these applications can query and update any supported geodetic definitions, as GeoCalc Online is continually updated in conjunction with leading survey and geodetic standards organizations (including the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers’ EPSG Geodetic Parameter Dataset, the National Geodetic Survey branch of NOAA, and other academic and survey sources). These updates ensure the most accurate, reliable, and proven geodetic conversions and calculations.

Improvements to GeoCalc Online include the display for transformation accuracy and inclusion of a direct link to the information page for each coordinate system and transformation in the Point-to-Point Calculator, improvements to the mobile user interface in the Point-to-Point Calculator, updates to GeoCalc 8.0 to include the latest EPSG Models (ISO 19111:2019) such as dynamic datums, ensembles, scopes, and usages, and ability to request a trial of the software to test the Point-to-Point Calculator if not tied to Geographic Calculator license.

“These updates help further refine GeoCalc Online for our users, improving access to necessary information within the Datasource.” stated Jeff Hatzel, Product Manager, “This ensures users can work with the latest EPSG Models directly in GeoCalc Online and within their other Blue Marble applications.”
