Sharing is Caring

Mason, Bruce & Girard, Inc. (MB&G) is dedicated to offering innovative data collection, management and analysis solutions to their natural resource clients. This includes powerful, modern mobile and web applications that enable efficient collection of high-quality field information, including timber inventory data. MB&G’s latest commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solution is MB&G Inventory Management System Hosted, an exciting new integration of MB&G’s technology with Esri’s ArcGIS Online.

Esri has been providing best-in-class Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to the forest industry for decades. Esri’s ArcGIS Online provides robust GIS capabilities for managing forestry data including land ownership, property boundaries, treatment history and timber inventory data. MB&G Inventory Management System extends ArcGIS Online by providing advanced forest inventory functionality, including an efficient mobile application for timber cruising (MobileMap) and a web application with specialized tools for cruise design and monitoring, plot layout, check cruising, data quality control, compilation and reporting (InventoryManager). To make this powerful solution available to a wider range of users, MB&G Inventory Management System Hosted combines the capabilities of these two systems into a single end-to-end solution. Now, the full power of MB&G Inventory Management System is available to our forestry clients who are not yet Esri customers.

MB&G Inventory Management System is built from the ground up on ArcGIS and provides a secure, cloud-hosted forest inventory data collection, analysis, and management system. It also serves as an integration platform, supporting complex analysis and reporting workflows that incorporate 3rd party forest information systems including FVS, TCruise, Trimble LRM, FS Cruiser, Silvah and more. Prior to the release of MB&G Inventory Management System Hosted, MB&G’s clients needed to purchase ArcGIS separately from Esri and to internally support the management of ArcGIS users, groups, data and services. MB&G Inventory Management System Hosted streamlines this process by providing a single hosted solution that is managed by MB&G and includes these core components of ArcGIS. This allows MB&G’s forestry clients to take advantage of this powerful solution, while staying focused on what matters most to them – the efficient collection, management and analysis forest information.

MB&G Inventory Management System Hosted allows organizations to take advantage of a modern GIS-based forestry solution, without the time and costs of managing an enterprise GIS.
