Sharing is Caring

Esri UK has received the Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award for its support to the UK Armed Forces community by providing positive employment policies towards ex-service staff and reservists, and supporting the wider Defence Community. Esri UK is a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant and previously held the Bronze Award.

The Silver Award was presented by HM Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire, Nigel Atkinson Esq, on 1 September at HMS King Alfred to Jim Sibbald, Security Officer, Esri UK, who commented, “We are very proud of the Silver Award as it reflects our commitment to the Defence Community and the high value we place on the skills and experience brought to our business by the ex-service personnel, reservists and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAV) on our staff. We are now going for Gold and focussed on meeting those criteria”.

The Aylesbury based company actively supports their Reservists and CFAV in taking paid leave for their training, as well as encourages staff in related volunteering activities. It supports charities including The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal and ABF The Soldiers Charity (Berks), and since 2010 its geospatial technology experts have provided technical support to Walking With The Wounded’s expeditions as well as fundraising. For the first time Esri UK has sponsored this year’s Best Reservist in Buckinghamshire Award, which was presented at HM Lord-Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire’s Awards on 28 September.

The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) encourages employers to support defence and inspire others to do the same. The scheme encompasses bronze, silver and gold awards for employer organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to defence and the armed forces community, and align their values to the Armed Forces Covenant.
