City Futures research Institute¸ Smart Cities and Infrastructure cluster, and GRID, UNSW Sydney are excited to be hosting two international conferences, the 7th Smart Data Smart Cities (SDSC) and the 17th 3D GeoInfo in Sydney. This is the first time SDSC has come to the Southern Hemisphere, the second time 3D GeoInfo has come to Australia and the first time both conferences have been organised jointly, providing a unique opportunity to show case and network with others in the fields of Smart Cities and 3D Geoinformation. 

SDSC and 3D GeoInfo will bring together Australian and international experts in City Analytics, GIS, digital twins, 3D data creation and management, ICTs, smart cities and data science, net zero cities, smart homes and transportation, 3D/4D modelling, 3D/4D immersive visualisation, blockchain technology, data privacy, crowdsourcing, disaster management systems, AI, BIM infrastructure and much more, all from leading research institutes to discuss advances in methods and applications. It provides a forum to discuss the use data and technology to plan and shape our future cities. SDSC is the annual conference of the Urban Data Management Society, which is over 40 years old. 3D GeoInfo has been organised annually since 2006 in four continents. In recent years, both conference have been supported by the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS). 

Our call for papers is now live, and we are seeking submissions on a range of seven themes including, but not limited to, Smart Data, Smart People, Smart Cities, Smart Digital Planning Tools, Smart Governance, Smart Environment and Smart Construction, 3D Modelling, 3D Analysis, 3D Interfaces and 3D Applications, see the attached document for more information. The key submission dates are the following; 

Extended abstract (1,500 words) due:                      15 March 2022 

Full paper submission due:                                                             15 April 2022  

Author notification:                                       01 May 2022  

Final paper submission due:                                                           10 July 2022  

Conference Dates:                                        19-21 October 2022  

 Accepted papers will be published in two separate sets of ISPRS proceedings, reflecting SDSC and 3DGeoInfo topics. 

Prospective authors are encouraged to submit papers via ConfTool, following the ISPRS guidelines available at   

Full paper: Submissions are limited to 8 pages. Papers not accepted for ISPRS Annals might be considered for the ISPRS Archives.  

Extended abstracts (1,000 words): accepted abstracts will be invited for a short paper (4-6 pages).  Authors of accepted extended abstracts will be offered the opportunity to extend their papers (using the ISPRS template) for publication in the ISPRS Archives.  

 The Archives and the Annals are listed in the ISI Conference Proceedings Citation Index (CPCI) of the Web of Science, SCOPUS, the E/I Compendex, and the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).
