1Spatial enhances survey capabilities in 1Edit

Sharing is Caring

Cambridge, UK, 1st August 2022, (www.1spatial.com) 1Spatial, the global geospatial software and solutions leader, have extended the capability of their survey application, 1Edit, with support for Web Maps and multi-part geometries.

1Edit 3.2 allows the use of Web Maps (WMS) to be used as background layers making it easier for surveyors to identify assets and changes in context. This capability provides easier configuration of background maps, and further supports hybrid working practices for surveyors.

Where offline background maps are required, 1Edit now supports multiple raster files and handles larger image files. This benefits the surveyor by providing a visual context for geospatial data, when there is no data signal.

Enhanced support for complex geometries including multi-part polygons increases efficiency for surveyors as features with multiple parts share common attributes and IDs.

Robert Chell, Chief Product Officer at 1Spatial commented:

“I'm delighted that our mobile development team continue to make the products easier and more effective for users to collect accurate data in the field. This includes our surveying customers that use 1Edit. Improvements in visualisation, like enhancing the background mapping capability, really does give a better user experience for people working online of offline, allowing them to capture data faster, and improve the quality of the data they collect at the same time.”

Seb Lessware, Chief Technology Officer at 1Spatial says:

“1Edit’s new survey capabilities further expands our customers’ ability to collect trusted, validated data that is right first time. 1Spatial’s validation rules engine runs locally on 1Edit ensuring complex data such as multi-part geometries are captured appropriately. Clean data at the point of survey reduces post-survey data processing and the data can be published and used more rapidly.”
