GIS Cloud Introduces Australian Based Servers

Sharing is Caring

Due to a great collaboration with its Australian and New Zealand partner Spatial Vision, GIS Cloud is now offering to Australian and New Zealand based customers the option of storing their GIS Cloud data on Amazon Web Servers in Australia.   Regulations in Australia and New Zealand, such as The Australian National Privacy Act of 1988,  can make it difficult for organizations to move data to cloud providers that store data outside of Australian or New Zealand borders. For this reason, GIS Cloud decided to offer the option of storing GIS Cloud data in Australia to meet the needs of a growing base of customers.

In the 12 months since Spatial Vision introduced the GIS Cloud product range to the Australian and New Zealand market, we have seen strong adoption of GIS Cloud solutions. To ensure the needs of the local market are been met, Australian-based GIS Cloud servers are now available.  For organizations requiring their data to be stored within Australia, this new service will ensure that GIS Cloud continues to offer compelling value with assurance. Spatial Vision welcomes GIS Cloud’s commitment and looks forward to continued growth in the GIS Cloud client base.

Glenn Cockerton, Managing Director at Spatial Vision

In October, one of the Australian & New Zealand region’s largest GIS Cloud customers migrated all of its data from the US based Servers to the Australian based Servers, complying with the onshore security requirements for storing their data. GIS Cloud and Spatial Vision are expecting to see positive feedback from the existing and future customers based in Australia and New Zealand. --   About GIS Cloud: GIS Cloud, launched in 2010, is one of the leading cloud GIS providers in the market.
