AppGeo’s Giza gains momentum in streaming imagery as a service
Today’s consumers of aerial imagery and basemaps can benefit greatly from both the low-cost storage and high-performance that are available via cloud-based imagery serving. Giza leverages the power and affordability of Google’s high-quality 6” pixel Imagery and the Google Cloud Platform (GCP), to deliver cost effective, scalable, high performance Imagery as a Service (IaaS).
AppGeo is proud to announce the addition of three new clients of our Giza appliance: the California Department of Transportation (CalTrans), the State of Georgia, and a major North American energy pipeline company. Though these clients have unique use cases spanning different industries, all three share the benefits of Giza’s fast, high-resolution imagery service.

Caltrans is leveraging the Google imagery via Giza to enhance the planning, design and delivery of transportation projects across California.
The State of Georgia’s Geographic Information Office is using Giza to expand the reach of their new statewide Imagery and GIS data program. Up to date imagery has been especially helpful for state agencies working on Hurricane Irma relief efforts.
Energy companies are using Google imagery via Giza as basemaps to inform the planning efforts for new potential pipelines to be built across the US.
