Site/civil engineering and coastal experts promoted in firm’s Richmond, Virginia, office
Fairfax, VA—April 24, 2018
Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, recently announced the promotion of more than 80 employees nationwide, including three staff members within the firm's Richmond, Virginia, office. The promotions coincide with Dewberry's ongoing expansion of engineering, architectural, and consulting services throughout Virginia, where the firm has practiced since 1956.
Promotions in the Richmond office include:
• Devin Keeler, PE, LEED AP, and Brian Batten, Ph.D., CFM, have been promoted to senior associate. As a senior project manager, Keeler is primarily focused on serving the needs of the firm’s higher education clients as it relates to site/civil; district energy distribution; and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering services. He earned two bachelor’s degrees from Purdue University (2005), one in civil engineering and one in land surveying and geomatics. Batten is a senior coastal scientist and works primarily in leadership and technical roles on diverse coastal-sector consulting projects. He earned a doctorate degree in coastal oceanography from Stony Brook University (2003), a master’s in marine environmental science from Stony Brook University (1999), and a bachelor’s in marine sciences from Coastal Carolina University (1997). Batten is an appointed member of the of the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Technical Mapping Advisory Council, Future Conditions subcommittee. Recently, he has been leading a comprehensive flood resilience study for the City of Virginia Beach.
• Heather Campbell, PE, has been promoted to associate. She is a project manager for the firm’s water/wastewater division, primarily serving local and state municipalities. She offers extensive experience in the analysis and design of water and sewer systems with a specialized focus on pipeline rehabilitation. Campbell earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Virginia Tech (2001) and is a member of the Water Environment Federation and local Virginia Water Environment Association.
