Ordnance Survey appoints Philippa Hird as Non-Executive Director
Ordnance Survey (OS), Great Britain’s national mapping agency, has appointed Philippa Hird to its board as a Non-Executive Director.
Philippa has extensive experience at boardroom level. She is currently Chair of the NHS Pay Review Body, Deputy Chair at AQA and a Non-Executive Director at City, University of London and the Remuneration Consultants Group. She has been a Non-Executive Director at HMRC and Vice President of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
Philippa began her career at ICI, moving to Granada TV and Media Group where she became Personnel Director and oversaw a number of mergers to create the current ITV from 13 regional companies. She was appointed Group HR Director at ITV in 2004.
Ordnance Survey’s Chairman, Kieran Murphy, said: “Philippa's abilities and wealth of experience in both the public and private sectors will be of great value to the continuing development of OS. We look forward to working with her to deliver the company's ambitious strategy.”
