On top of that, their latest GIM International readers survey indicated that 20% of geospatial companies is expecting to plan on investing in mobile mapping systems. An analysis of the user behaviour on Geo-matching, the product platform for surveying, positioning and machine guidance, shows almost double as much traffic in Mobile Mapping pages. An important sign of the growing mobile mapping industry can also be seen in the enquiries on Geo-matching, with an increase of 250% in 2017. On top of that, the number of mobile mapping systems on Geo-matching has grown with a stunning 325% in the last three years!

Mobile mapping is a technology that is used worldwide, but a clear trend is seen in the Asia-Pacific region with almost 50% of all of Geomares’ users coming from that region! This is supported by other market research stating that increased investment to develop infrastructure in Asia-Pacific – the need for which is created by the process of hyper-urbanisation that is currently underway across the region – will boost demand for mobile mapping technology.

Average searches for these terms on Google show a similar trend, growing from 7,000 in 2014, to 9,000 in 2016 and currently to 14,000 searches per month!
