Sharing is Caring

(Sun Prairie, WI) – August, 2018 – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has selected Continental Mapping to provide bridge mapping services for over 2,000 bridges throughout Indiana. The four year on-call contract will task Continental Mapping to collect and deliver bridge clearance attributes, utilizing mobile lidar for rapid and accurate collection and extraction services. The data will be integrated into INDOT’s Bridge Inspection Application System (BIAS) and Oversize/Overweight (OSW) system, providing regular updates to bridge attribute information.

“Continental Mapping is honored to have been selected to provide bridge clearance data to INDOT. We have a long history with INDOT, and are pleased to be expanding that relationship. We look forward to supporting INDOT in their efforts to improve safety and mobility for the public and for motor carriers.”

- Craig Gooding, Sr. Account Executive, Transportation

Continental Mapping was selected in part based on proven capabilities provided to the transportation sector, as well as our ability to capture new and needed additional measurements such as lateral clearances and “defense” clearances. Numerous similar projects have been successfully completed for other state DOTs, employing mobile lidar for mapping and asset inventory. Bridge clearances are a standard deliverable which Continental Mapping provides for mobile lidar transportation projects. This contract continues Continental Mapping’s decade-long relationship providing geospatial services to INDOT.
