Addition of Schneider Electric customer engagement tools offers better network understanding for optimum energy aggregation

Sept. 9, 2015 – Schneider Electric announced its partnership with IPKeys Technologies, LLC, a provider of standards based energy interoperations software, network communications engineering, and enterprise security solutions that enable energy providers and their customers to achieve a more reliable, safer, and more economically beneficial smart grid.

The combination of IPKeys EISSTM Online technology with Schneider Electric’s cloud-based customer engagement, energy management and demand response system – Energy Profiler Online (EPO) – will give IPKeys Power Partners load aggregation service’s customers the ability to monitor energy performance in near real-time, track energy savings and actively participate in automated demand response events. This capability to monitor accurate, detailed energy usage data means facilities, as well as utilities, will benefit from the most cost-effective and sustainable energy possible.

Utilizing the OpenADR 2.0b protocol, facilities benefit from increased flexibility and improved usability for better customer experience and enhanced performance. Being able to accurately view detailed energy information allows customers to identify cost savings opportunities, achieve sustainability goals, and improve reliability. Additionally, this partnership will help customers enhance their demand response program performance and manage peak demands as they occur.

This standards-based bundled solution is the first customer engagement and demand response solution that provides both near-real time load reporting and real-time load management utilizing OpenADR 2.0b, demonstrating further adoption of the standard to benefit utilities, aggregators, and their customers.

“The opportunity to advance our partnering with Schneider Electric and integrate EPO with our EISSTM Online platform presents new advantages for consumers of electricity,” said Robert Nawy, Managing Director and CFO, IPKeys. “Energy managers and a wide range of consumers will now be able to benefit from technology that was originally deployed for utilities.”

EPO provides value to all types of energy services providers, including regulated investor-owned utilities (IOUs), municipal utilities, co-ops, energy retailers, and now demand response aggregators. Schneider Electric’s partnership with IPKeys Power Partners demonstrates further adoption of the OpenADR standard, increasing flexibility and improved usability for a better customer experience and increased performance across the energy value chain.
