Backed by cross‑sector research and field feedback, the company Metis today unveils Skyperion Lightweight, a new RF‑based detection product for aerospace and security operators focused on drone awareness.

New Generation C-UAS Capability

For squads that must move fast, this compact variant preserves almost the entire detect–track–identify DTI sensor suite of its highly regarded sibling, Skyperion Rugged, yet trims SWaP—size, mass, and power draw—for rapid set‑up while maneuvering. As a result, teams gain a mobile C‑UAS option tuned for quick deployment and sustained patrols. Teams can carry it with minimal burden, keeping power draw and weight low without trading away performance. During daily operations, field crews benefit from a balance of portability and endurance.

Counter-Drone Defense With NATO Partners

Across a ten‑year span, leadership in passive sensing for C‑UAS has seen Metis contribute the DTI module to the RAF’s ORCUS and to Leonardo’s Falcon Shield. Working alongside NATO allies, these programs secure airspace and key facilities through precision drone detection and early warning. Together, they deter hostile unmanned incursions around vital assets. Across the product line, receivers collect radio emissions at multiple strengths, discard background clutter and whitelisted signals, and rapidly analyze the remainder to pinpoint probable threats.
