Synspective Secures Role in Satellite Constellation Project

Following a brief corporate update issued today, the company’s leadership at Synspective, known for synthetic aperture radar capabilities and advanced analytics on satellite data, stated that its services agreement connected to the Ministry of Defense initiative called the Satellite Constellation Project is now in force, alongside publication of the overall contract sum.
Synspective Inc: Announcement and Scope
As a financing-and-operations approach favored for major infrastructure, this long-term model—run as an initiative using private finance (PFI)—lets Japan’s defense ministry tap commercial know-how to design, deploy, and run a defense satellite constellation delivering steady streams of satellite imagery to bolster national security. Providing context for the update, officials previously issued a notice on Dec. 25, 2025 naming the companies designated to operate the program.
SAR and SPC Structure
Operating as part of a broad consortium focused on national security, Tri-Sat Constellation Co., Ltd.—a dedicated project vehicle (SPC) created by Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, SKY Perfect JSAT, and Mitsui & Co.—works with Synspective, which confirmed its service arrangement with the Ministry of Defense is now signed and active. Covering the program’s lifespan, the agreement totals 283.1 billion yen, tax included, for Tri-Sat in its contract with the Ministry of Defense.
