The GIS Certification Institute (GISCI) has announced that Es² has been designated as its newest Endorsing Employer, recognizing the organization’s commitment to supporting professional development and the GISP® (Certified GIS Professional) certification program. The announcement was made on November 11, 2023, in Des Plaines, Illinois.

Founded in 1996, Es² is a Louisiana-based small business specializing in advanced geospatial services, including geographic information systems (GIS), unmanned aerial systems (UAS), surveying, and mapping. As an Esri Gold Partner and licensed engineering and surveying firm, the company provides professional GIS services to local, state, and federal government agencies, maritime ports, nonprofit organizations, universities, and private-sector clients.

Through its participation in the GISCI Endorsing Employer Designation Program, Es² formally demonstrates its support for professional certification, ethical standards, and workforce excellence within the geospatial industry. The designation indicates that the organization maintains internal programs, policies, and professional development initiatives that encourage staff participation in the GISP certification process and uphold the professional values promoted by GISCI.

The Endorsing Employer designation is granted to organizations that meet established GISCI criteria and successfully complete a formal application and review process. Approved organizations receive the designation for a three-year period and are authorized to display the GISCI Endorsing Employer mark, reflecting their commitment to professional credentialing and industry best practices. The program is open to public and private organizations worldwide and carries no application fee.

GISCI, a nonprofit organization, administers the internationally recognized GISP certification program, which promotes professional competency, ethical conduct, and continued professional engagement within the global geospatial community. By recognizing employers that actively support certification and professional growth, the institute aims to strengthen the value of professional credentials while encouraging organizations to invest in the development of skilled GIS professionals.
