Sharing is Caring

Philadelphia, PA – On April 19th, 2018 Keystone Aerial Surveys, Inc. (Keystone) is announcing two major additions to its capabilities. First, Keystone is opening a new office in Reno, NV in response to the overwhelming need expressed by our clients. The Reno office will offer timely and local services for Northern Nevada, Northern California (including the San Francisco area) and the surrounding states. “For quite some time, Keystone has been hearing from many clients that our services were needed in this region”, commented John Schmitt, Keystone’s President. “With a permanent base in Reno Nevada, Keystone will provide high quality imagery data for new and existing clients looking to partner in this growing region.” Eventually the Reno office will provide the full spectrum of Keystone services, including Lidar and UAS, but will initially focus on imagery collection with a latest generation digital sensor.

In coordination with the new office, Keystone is also announcing the purchase of its 8th digital sensor. The addition of a Vexcel UltraCam Eagle M3 will bring the latest technology available in the aerial sensor market to the region. By basing this digital sensor in the Reno office, Keystone can acquire 2cm GSD or better imagery for very high accuracy projects while still having a camera perfectly suited for large area collections with a footprint of 26,460 by 17,004 pixels. With the standard 100mm lens kit for the UltraCam Eagle, high accuracy with low lens distortion affects will be seen. “Additionally, in the middle of 2018, we will add a 210mm lens kit to the M3 system at this office”, noted David Day, Executive Vice President of Keystone. “By incorporating the longer lens system, Keystone will be able to fly above the congested airspaces such as San Francisco or Las Vegas while still maintaining high resolution imagery”, he continued.

These investments into quality equipment and local bases demonstrate Keystone’s continued commitment to providing geospatial data acquisition services to support the survey, mapping, GIS and remote sensing market in the United States. Keystone is one of the largest acquisition focused geospatial companies in the world and remains dedicated to supporting customers as its primary focus.

About the UltraCam Eagle M3

The UltraCam Eagle Mark 3, camera features an amazingly larger image size of 449 mega pixel per image. The Mark 3 also offers a user-exchangeable lens system and the ability to capture 10 cm GSD at altitudes ranging from 2,000m to 5,250 m above the ground, depending on the installed lens system.

The significant increase in pixels, from 23K to 26.5K across the flight strip, makes the UltraCam Eagle Mark 3 the most efficient frame-based large format digital sensor on the market today. The ability to simultaneously collect R, G, B and NIR channels at a rapid frame rate of one frame per 1.5 seconds produces high-quality data suitable for a variety of applications.
