Raleigh, NC, September 19, 2018 — Global energy leader Chevron has selected WISER Systems Inc., developer of a precise and cost-effective wireless real-time locating system, to participate in the Chevron Technology Ventures Catalyst Program.

As a division of Chevron itself, Chevron Technology Ventures (CTV) is “a conduit for early adoption of emerging technology” according to the program’s website. CTV supports innovative companies with new technologies that potentially enhance Chevron’s mission of responsible energy production.

“We’re proud and excited to continue enhancing, adapting, and integrating our technology into the oil and gas industry in partnership with Chevron,” said WISER CEO Dr. Elaine C. Rideout. “Our selection in CTV’s Catalyst Program is a testament to years of hard work by our amazing team!”

Since its inception in 2017, CTV’s Catalyst Program has helped early stage companies like WISER accelerate technology development. With this announcement, WISER joins five other companies currently participating in the Catalyst Program.

WISER’s Redundant Radio Localization and Tracking (RRLT) technology is a real-time approach to asset tracking. It delivers 3D coordinates for any tagged asset, overlaying data on a floorplan or site map. This offers instantaneous visibility of vital assets at any time. Unlike most legacy tracking technologies, WISER RRLT operates both indoors and out and can be deployed in a matter of moments without bulky infrastructure. It also tracks with sub-meter accuracy even in cluttered and metallic environments.

“The fact that we can take our mesh network into any new environment and start locating immediately is revolutionary,” said Rideout. “Most location and asset visibility systems are big, difficult to install, and require precise measurements or wiring. Or they’re beacon systems that aren’t accurate around metal and overload your WiFi. We create value in energy, manufacturing, warehousing, fleet management, and so many different industries.”

WISER Systems is a woman-founded and led company based in Raleigh, NC. To date the company has received both Phase I and II Small Business Innovation and Research grants from the United States Department of Agriculture, as well as North Carolina State University’s prestigious Richard L. and Marlene V. Daugherty Centennial Campus Endowment for Entrepreneurship. WISER also won 1st place in the Industrial Internet of Things category at IoT World 2017 and recently secured a Phase I award in the U.S. Army’s inaugural Expeditionary Technology Search program.

WISER’s asset tracking solutions currently serve a variety of companies in aerospace, manufacturing, oil and gas, retail, and logistics settings. Use cases include autonomous inventory, task monitoring, safety status, virtual security zoning, process visibility, and many other indoor and outdoor positioning applications.
