Aethon Aerial Solutions acquires RME Geomatics

Ottawa Ontario, June 3rd , 2019, Aethon Aerial Solutions Inc. (Aethon) announced today of an agreement under which Aethon has acquired the assets, Intellectual Property and assumed various contracts previously held by RME Geomatics of Ottawa, Ontario and Calgary, Alberta. Under the terms of the agreement Aethon will hire the existing staff to operate as the Ottawa division of Aethon. This new division will focus on the operation of next generation UAV and helicopter based LiDAR camera systems, developed by Aethon, for power line, pipeline and corridor inspection markets in addition to the companies traditional engineering and survey activities

Curtis Parks - General Manager, RME Geomatics stated: “By becoming a part of the Aethon team we will have access to a larger pool of engineering and R&D resources necessary to allow us to address the global opportunity represented by the use of UAV systems operating autonomously and flown beyond line of sight.”

Aethon is currently deploying a fleet of next generation airborne and UAV-based LiDAR acquisition systems that will be deployed regionally across North America along with cloud based processing technology. More importantly through the Aethon Affiliate network we will also gain access to a broader market for our unique engineering product offerings and access to a shared marketing and sales network that will expand our market reach globally.
