AXIS GeoSpatial Expands Executive Team with Veteran Geospatial Leader Allen Wainger

AXIS GeoSpatial LLC, headquartered in Easton, Maryland, has announced the appointment of Allen Wainger, PE, to its Project Management team. With more than four decades of experience in geospatial technology and civil engineering, Wainger joins the firm following a distinguished tenure at Michael Baker International, where he led the expansion of Geospatial Information Technology (GIT) Services and Information Systems initiatives serving federal and state agencies.

Throughout his career, Wainger has demonstrated expertise in building and scaling multidisciplinary geospatial operations. His leadership experience spans the specification, development, and management of integrated spatial solutions designed to meet complex government requirements. At AXIS GeoSpatial, he will oversee cross-functional teams responsible for delivering projects within defined client timelines, budgets, and scopes.

Wainger holds a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University. His professional credentials include registration as a Professional Engineer in the Commonwealths of Virginia and Massachusetts, with a technical specialization in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering. In addition to his engineering background, he brings extensive field experience in surveying, photogrammetry, and mapping—skills that complement AXIS’ core geocapture and remote sensing capabilities.

An active contributor to the regional geospatial community, Wainger participates in the Maryland State Geospatial Information Committee, where he has served as treasurer and chaired the Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) working group. His involvement reflects a commitment to advancing standards, collaboration, and innovation within the broader GIS and geospatial ecosystem.
