How to Tackle a Mixed GIS Environment: A Data-Driven Approach

Are you working in a mixed GIS environment? Do you have ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo, and Smallworld, as well as other GIS software in your organization? Do you also need multiple sources of geospatial data in several formats, but don’t know where to start? What if you could optimize deployment of these software and data solutions to maximize productivity?

Today, many organizations find themselves in the situation described above, where not every GIS solution solves every problem. Likewise, no single geospatial data supplier has the most accurate, complete, or authoritative data needed for each project.  In addition, many projects require extensive data integration, format standardization and ETL.

In this webinar, we will show you how to tackle this challenge by becoming a data-driven organization, not a software-driven organization. This takes a disciplined approach, with a variety of tools, sometimes from a variety of data and software solution providers. We will discuss our customer, a major natural gas utility, in which we solved many of their challenges from geocoding to data integration as well as providing them a portfolio of data in file geodatabase format (FGDB).
