Property data has always been in the CoreLogic® DNA. In the early 1980’s a company called REDI (Real Estate Data Incorporated), one of the companies that would later become CoreLogic, was already involved in the property data space. REDI focused on providing customers with content pertaining to tax rolls, in addition to hardcopy map products. At the same time, the company that is now ubiquitous with GIS, Esri®, was beginning to establish themselves in the GIS marketplace. Esri had recently launched a commercial GIS application called ARC/INFO, which ultimately laid the groundwork for the entire Esri software product line. During the 80’s and 90’s, CoreLogic and the other companies who would later coalesce to form CoreLogic continued to be involved in mapping efforts as it related to the Real Estate and Mortgage markets. Yet it wasn’t until the early 2000’s that CoreLogic began to expand our competencies from the singular focus of tabular property data and hardcopy map products, to a deeper and more comprehensive exploration of the world of geospatial technology. Not surprisingly, this led us back into conversations with Esri.
The ability to enable our customers with evolving data and analytics, and serve business with property information has been propelling CoreLogic forward since before the turn of the century. However, one of the initial steps and notable milestones in becoming a geospatial content leader culminated over 10 years ago with the launch of CoreLogic ParcelPoint®; the most comprehensive parcel boundary dataset available for the United States. In the decade since, CoreLogic has expanded our geospatial capabilities to include:
- Tax and Jurisdictional Layers
- Enterprise Geocoding
- Hazard Layers & Hazard Models
- Weather Verification Services
Throughout this time, CoreLogic has utilized Esri software solutions to optimize data creation, management, and delivery capabilities. CoreLogic has also sought to develop sophisticated and industry relevant technology solutions to provide services and content delivery to our customer base. Continuing since the launch of ARC/INFO, Esri has been ever present as a leader and innovator in GIS software and GIS technology, resulting in an increasing audience and customer base for both geospatial content and services. CoreLogic and Esri have now collaborated to identify some of the most expansive and in demand content sets from CoreLogic and deliver these services directly via ArcGIS® Enterprise Map and Feature Services. This is CoreLogic data, delivered your way.
By enabling ArcGIS Enterprise as a premier content delivery mechanism to our customer base, we have eliminated timely ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) processes from our customer’s infrastructure, allowing them access to efficient data analysis. As one of our customers stated, “it is so nice to be able to drag and drop content wherever I need it without worrying about internal lag in data processing.” Additionally, another customer has stated that “the ability to serve the CoreLogic data to over 2,000 Esri users within my organization is going to help drive efficiencies that were not possible before”. For some time, CoreLogic customers have asked for a web-based solution that will allow for ease of distribution of content throughout their organization. Unsurprisingly, after careful consideration of many alternatives and thoughtful input from both our customers and internal users, we determined that ArcGIS Enterprise was the only logical direction to meet the needs of our customer base.
CoreLogic and Esri have designs to continue collaboration related to content and software, well into the future. This will ensure that our shared and unique customers continue to have access to envelope-pushing GIS software, and the highest quality data available. Furthermore, CoreLogic intends to expand the geospatial data product portfolio that is available via ArcGIS Enterprise. CoreLogic recognizes the need for quality GIS Software across the GIS community and is committed to delivering that content in a manner that fits the need of those users.
